55 UNION STREET
The top to bottom Historic Preservation of 55 Union Street in Nantucket was done in collaboration with Pen Austin, now of Building Preservation Associates. The house, built by Nantucket builder, John Nicolson in 1834 remains one of the few completely intact examples of his work. The house was restored in kind with complete systems upgrades. The interior design plays homage to the houses past seafaring owners: from Whaling Captains to scallop fisherman, with nods to the 19th century and modernism. The project was awarded the Nantucket Preservation Trust's 2016 Architectural Preservation Award for our role in the preservation of the property’s historical, cultural and architectural value.
